Your reporting dates are indicated on the jury summons and schedule of dates which were mailed to you. Your reporting time is 8:15 a.m., if you are assigned to Courtroom #1, Judge Michael Ater, and 8:30 a.m., if you are assigned to Courtroom #2, Judge Matthew S. Schmidt.
Starting with your first reporting date, you are on call for a period of one month. If you are seated on a jury panel, you will be required to appear for jury duty that day and each day thereafter until the trial is concluded. The length of each trial varies from one (1) day to several weeks, but most trial are usually one (1) to two (2) days. Trials typically begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m., but may go later in the day, depending upon necessity. Please keep this in mind when you are scheduling around your report days.
To determine whether you need to report on your scheduled date, please call the Jury Service number at (740) 702-3032 or (740) 702-3033, extension 7 after 4:30 p.m. for Courtroom #1. For Courtroon #2, call (740) 702-3038 or (740) 702-3039, extension 8 after 4:30 p.m. the evening before your reporting date. You may access the message at any time the evening before your reporting date. You may also check this Court’s website to determine your need to report for jury service.
